Musical artist Nicki Minaj is reportedly set to attend the upcoming White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington, D.C., appearing as a guest of Fox News.
The high-profile event, often referred to as the WHCA dinner, brings together journalists, politicians, and celebrities to recognize reporting on the presidency and celebrate the First Amendment. Over the years, it has drawn notable guests across entertainment and public life.
Minaj’s expected appearance follows her recent public comments expressing support for President Donald Trump. Earlier this year, she said she was “probably” one of his biggest fans and indicated that criticism would not change her stance.
The dinner is scheduled for Saturday night, with President Trump and Melania Trump also slated to attend. It would mark the president’s first appearance at the event during his presidency, adding another layer of attention to an already closely watched gathering.
“For more than 100 years, the journalists of the White House Correspondents’ Association have enjoyed an evening with the president, a dinner that celebrates the First Amendment while supporting the work we do including awards honoring excellent journalism and scholarships to help the next generation of reporters who someday will be the ones asking the questions at the White House,” WHCA President Weijia Jiang shared in a statement concerning the president’s attendance.
“We’re happy the president has accepted our invitation and look forward to hosting him,” the statement added.
President Trump expressed plans to attend in March.
“In honor of our Nation’s 250th Birthday, and the fact that these ‘Correspondents’ now admit that I am truly one of the Greatest Presidents in the History of our Country, the G.O.A.T., according to many, it will be my Honor to accept their invitation, and work to make it the GREATEST, HOTTEST, and MOST SPECTACULAR DINNER, OF ANY KIND, EVER!” he posted to Truth Social in March.
