Former Republican presidential nominee and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley announced Tuesday she will be releasing her delegates, encouraging them to support President Donald Trump prior to the Republican National Convention (RNC), according to multiple reports.

Haley is set to release the 97 delegates, bringing the Republican Party further into unifying behind Trump as he is set to be announced as the GOP presidential nominee for 2024 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the convention beginning on July 15.

In a statement released by her former campaign, Haley called for the unification behind the 45th president as she called out Biden’s concerning mental fitness, according to ABC News. Haley stated that while Biden is “not competent to serve a second term,” Vice President Kamala Harris would ultimately take over and be a “disaster for America,” the outlet reported.

“We need a president who will hold our enemies to account, secure our border, cut our debt, and get our economy back on track,” Haley said. “I encourage my delegates to support Donald Trump next week in Milwaukee.”

The former South Carolina governor’s spokesperson Chaney Denton told ABC News that Haley would not be in attendance at the upcoming RNC event.

“She was not invited, and she’s fine with that,” Denton told the outlet. “Trump deserves the convention he wants. She’s made it clear she’s voting for him and wishes him the best.”

Haley’s run against Trump for the GOP presidential nomination ended in March after Super Tuesday voting showed Trump sweeping the majority of support for Republicans. Following her withdrawal from the race, Trump stated that he believes Haley could be on the “team because we have a lot of the same ideas, same thoughts,” according to CBS News.

“I think she’s going to be on our team because we have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts,” Trump told News 12 New York in May. “I appreciated what she said. You know, we had a nasty campaign, it was pretty nasty. But she’s a very capable person, and I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form, absolutely.”
