Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, announced on Thursday the successful launch of its Truth+ streaming video on the Truth Social app.
The new streaming feature is available for both Android and iOS devices.
Users can access the streaming video content by selecting the Truth+ icon within Truth Social without updating the app. Content can be viewed within the app or picture-in-picture while scrolling through other content within Truth Social.
“Our rollout of TV streaming is continuing apace,” said TMTG CEO Devin Nunes about the success of the Android rollout. “The addition of streaming to Android devices is another step toward our goal of creating an uncancellable home for free speech and family-friendly TV content.”
Nunes also notes the milestone of successfully launching on Apple’s iOS platform.
“We’ve hit a big milestone in our TV streaming rollout, with the service now available across the entire Truth Social platform—iOS, Android, and the Web,” Nunes continued in a second press release.
“Our uncancellable CDN is delivering high-quality TV streaming to all Truth Social users. As we continue to test the service, we look forward to rolling out new Truth+ apps for over-the-top streaming to mobile devices and TVs,” he added.
Additional plans will expand streaming content, such as additional news options, Christian content and family-friendly programming, according to TMTG’s news release.
The efforts are part of TMTG’s mission to “end Big Tech’s assault on free speech by opening up the Internet and giving people their voices back. TMTG operates Truth Social, a social media platform established as a safe harbor for free expression amid increasingly harsh censorship by Big Tech corporations.”
The company has often dealt with attacks from Trump critics, including allegations of users seeking to manipulate DJT stock.
As RSBN previously reported, Nunes wrote to the commissioner of the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions, Scott Jolly, in May urging Louisiana officials to investigate the alleged manipulation of DJT stocks.
“The anomalies surrounding the trading of DJT suggest the possibility of unlawful collusion among multiple market counterparties including, without limitation: prime brokers, clearing brokers, executing brokers, options market makers, hedge funds, custodian banks, and other fiduciaries. Such collusion would violate not only federal law, but also Louisiana law,” Nunes wrote.
