Immigration and Customs Enforcement has deported over 100,000 illegal immigrants since President Donald Trump’s return to the White House in January, according to The New York Post.
The ICE actions include over 113,000 arrests since Jan. 20, the exclusive report noted.
“Illegal entries into the United States are no longer a backdoor way to getting status,” a source told the outlet, with just 7,000 illegal crossings at the southern border in March.
President Donald Trump’s border policies have led to a historic drop in the number of getaways recorded, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection source last month.
From Feb. 20 to March 12, the daily average was only 77 gotaways, Fox News reported, with a total number of 5,889.
“Border Patrol’s nationwide recorded gotaways have plummeted to a stunningly low daily average of just 77 over the last 21 days, according to internal CBP data we’ve reviewed. President Biden averaged 1,837 gotaways per day in the fiscal year 2023 at the height of the crisis, totaling 670,674 for the year,” Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin posted to X on Thursday.
“President Trump has had 5,889 recorded nationwide gotaways since his first full day in office on January 21st, according to the data. Nationwide includes southern, northern, and coastal borders,” he added.
Under the Biden administration, 670,674 gotaways were estimated during the 2023 fiscal year. The daily average for the period was 1,837.
Last month, the president shared the comments following the announcement of lower illegal border crossing numbers in February.
“The month of February, my first full month in Office, had the LOWEST number of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter our Country in History – BY FAR! There were only 8,326 apprehensions of Illegals by Border Patrol at the U.S. – Mexico Border, all of whom were quickly ejected from our Nation or, when necessary, prosecuted for crimes against the United States of America,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“This means that very few people came – The Invasion of our Country is OVER. In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the Border is CLOSED to all Illegal Immigrants. Anyone who tries to illegally enter the U.S.A. will face significant criminal penalties and immediate deportation,” he added.
