President Donald Trump slammed new polling data on Thursday, homing in on a specific survey that he says was “tremendously negative” toward him recently and “especially” on the cusp of the 2024 presidential election.

“The Times Siena Poll, which is always tremendously negative to me, especially just before the Election of 2024, where I won in a Landslide, will be added to my lawsuit against The Failing New York Times,” the president announced on Truth Social.

The president previously filed a $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times, publisher Penguin House, and four of its reporters, alleging damaging reporting and publishing, per RSBN.

“Our lawyers have demanded that they keep all Records, and how they ‘computed’ these fake results — Not just the fact that it was heavily skewed toward Democrats. They will be held fully responsible for all of their Radical Left lies and wrongdoing!” the president continued.

President Trump, in his Thursday statement, was referring to a newly released New York Times/Siena poll that surveyed American voters following the first year of the president’s second term.

The poll found that the president’s approval rating among Americans nationwide was 40 percent, with 56 percent disapproving. Their data also found that 55 percent “say that his first year has been unsuccessful rather than successful.”

The poll drew the president’s ire, and he issued three separate statements on Truth Social about the issue.

“Something has to be done about Fake Polls! They are truly OUT OF CONTROL,” he wrote. “We have the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country, we have the Strongest Border in History, nobody has ever done a job like I have done, and they have me in the low 40s. The Democrats destroyed Healthcare, I’m trying to fix it, and they give me FAKE low numbers. Fake Polls on the Economy, on the Border, on just about everything, are ridiculous and dangerous. The REAL Polls have been GREAT, but they refuse to print them.”

The president said that “Fake and Fraudulent Polling should be, virtually, a criminal offense.”

He slammed the bevy of “Anti Trump Media” that covered his reelection campaign, accusing them of “trying to influence the election” with narrative-shaping polling.

“There are great Pollsters that called the Election right, but the Media does not want to use them in any way, shape, or form,” the president argued. “Isn’t it sad what has happened to American Journalism, but I am going to do everything possible to keep this Polling SCAM from moving forward!”

The NYT/Siena poll was conducted among 1,625 registered voters between January 12, 2026, and January 17.
