President Donald Trump on Friday congratulated his wife, First Lady Melania, on her brand new non-fungible token (NFT) initiative, which will focus on creating artwork to benefit her Be Best initiative.
“Congratulations to my wife, Melania,” President Trump stated through his Save America PAC. “The launch of Melania’s new NFT business epitomizes our American Spirit of ingenuity, creativity, and entrepreneurship,” he continued.
NFT investments are unique, providing digital assets for investors that are based in blockchain technology that cannot be replicated.
The First Lady’s NFT will be called “Melania’s Vision,” according to a statement from the Office of Melania Trump. “I am proud to announce my new NFT endeavor, which embodies my passion for the arts, and will support my ongoing commitment to children through my Be Best initiative,” Mrs. Trump stated.
“Melania’s Vision” is described in her official statement as a “breathtaking watercolor art by Marc-Antoine Coulon,” and will be sold for “1 SOL (approximately $150),” along with an audio message from Mrs. Trump.
Additionally, the NFTs will be released in “regular” intervals, varying artwork in digital, physical, and accessory forms. Interestingly, payment for the NFT will be powered through MoonPay, which will be platformed on Parler, a “free speech social network.”
President Trump continued in his statement, “By leveraging blockchain technology, MelaniaTrump.com will provide Melania’s fans, connoisseurs of the arts, and the public at large the ability to collect rare and limited edition pieces while benefiting children in the foster care community.”
Mrs. Trump’s first NFT, “Melania’s Vision,” will be available between Dec. 16 and Dec. 31. The proceeds will be donated to children in the foster community, including providing them with computer science skills, programming, and software development.
