Republicans definitely don’t want to campaign with a fear-based slogan, but the truth is that the U.S. is in a state of turmoil. From big-city crime to the drug epidemic affecting rural communities, the people of the nation are suffering.
While President Donald J. Trump can’t eliminate all crime in the country, his record speaks for itself. As president, he backed the blue, engaged in criminal justice reform and shut down the southern border.
President Trump should run on Make America Great Again and Make America Safe Again.
Opinion polls show that crime, including illegal immigration, is a top voting issue for most of the public. Illegal immigration is affecting all communities across the country. In the midst of the border crisis, Mexican drug cartels reign over the drug trade, directly causing the deaths of American citizens.
Trump’s track record speaks for itself on the southern border. First, he did what no other president could: shut down the border. He also started building the wall, which law enforcement experts agree is necessary. Finally, President Trump stated that the cartels are nothing more than terrorist groups and suggested that the American military could be used to address them.
President Trump’s 2016 campaign success primarily centered on a secure border, which sadly has become even worse under the Biden administration. It’s baffling how anyone could vote for Kamala Harris, who was deemed solely responsible for border security in the current administration.
The border crisis isn’t the only thing affecting crime nationwide. Outside of the border, many liberal mayors and governors openly embraced the attack on the law enforcement community. Some cities went to such extreme measures that they openly planned or attempted to replace some peace officer positions with social workers to deal with violent and dangerous offenders.
President Trump has consistently backed the blue and sought additional funding for the law enforcement community versus reforming their profession. We currently live in a day where most agencies across the nation are having a horrible time recruiting officers, and rightfully so. Who would want to be a police officer when you are a puppet for the far-left and restricted from doing your job?
Such prime examples serve in cities such as New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, where violent offenders often receive a slap on the wrist and make bail within hours of committing violent crimes.
The Reagan administration might receive criticism from both liberals and conservatives for its tough crime policies, but it can be acknowledged that Reagan actively worked towards making America safer. There is a place and valid argument for a thoughtful discussion on criminal justice reform. Still, the crime epidemic needs to be addressed, and here again, the Biden administration has failed miserably in keeping Americans safe.
The next President of the United States needs to be a friend to the police, not one who actively criticizes them or even encourages the bailing out of people who have burned down cities and police departments, as Kamala Harris did.
America is at the point where cuddling criminals and ignoring the illegal immigration crisis is destroying the nation. Crime needs to be addressed in the country, and it should be the number one priority for every American to make America safe again. This is an issue where President Trump exceeds and has proven himself as one of the best presidents in U.S. history.
A vote for President Donald J. Trump is a vote towards restoring safety in America.
