On Tuesday, President Trump called out Time Magazine over its cover story on the peace deal between Israel and Gaza. The deal, which was signed on Monday, marks a major achievement for the Trump administration. Although the magazine acknowledged the historic moment, President Trump is featured on the cover in a photo shot at an upward angle.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised the story but bashed Time Magazine for attempting to undercut the coverage with an unflattering photo.

“Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time,” President Trump said. ““They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird!”

Trump continued by questioning why Time Magazine would choose such an awkward angle to accompany the feature story.

“I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles, but this is a super bad picture, and deserves to be called out,” Trump said. “What are they doing, and why?”

Allies of President Trump echoed is comments on social media, bashing Time Magazine for its choice of photo and its attempt to undermine the story that highlights the achievement of the Trump administration.

Kari Lake called out the magazine for the photo choice during such a historic moment, posting an alternative cover with a much more flattering picture of President Trump.

“Share this cover so that the world sees the strength of our great President Trump instead of the one the fake news Time magazine put out,” Lake said. “Time magazine uses the most unflattering photos of President Trump at a moment when they should be honoring him.”

Political commentator Scott Adams also chimed in on the photograph, calling it “literally the worst photograph I’ve ever seen of a public figure.”

“It’s so unflattering that I don’t for a second think it isn’t intentional,” Adams said. “It looks like they couldn’t say anything bad about him because he had such a successful day. But they could put a picture there that made you go, ‘Ugh, what’s going on there?'”

Despite the unflattering photo choice, the Time Magazine story did acknowledge the successful negotiation of a peace deal between Israel and Hamas, which brought an end to the conflict that had been ongoing in the region since Oct. 7, 2023. The story was released one day after the successful return of 20 living hostages held by Hamas. In the story, Time Magazine described the deal as ” a signature achievement of Trump’s second term,” and one that “could mark a strategic turning point for the Middle East.”
