President Donald Trump on Monday pointed to what he described as the highest approval ratings of his political career, arguing Americans are responding positively to his administration’s efforts to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

In a Truth Social post, the president celebrated the polling while highlighting one of his administration’s central foreign policy priorities.

“Highest Poll Numbers Ever,” he wrote. “Even Higher than Election Day, November 5th. This despite the fact that, IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!”

Trump did not identify which poll he was referencing. One possible survey is a Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll released last week that found Trump’s approval rating rose four percentage points to 47 percent, the highest level recorded for him in that survey this year. The poll also found that 82 percent of Republicans approved of his job performance.

Another possibility is a McLaughlin & Associates survey conducted June 17-23 among 1,000 likely midterm voters, which found Trump’s job approval rating at 50 percent.

According to the Daily Mail, President Trump’s approval rating had remained at 43 percent for the previous three months before increasing following the announcement of the Iran agreement and easing energy prices.

The president has consistently argued that preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon is a cornerstone of his foreign policy, and Monday’s post reinforced that message.

The administration has continued its maximum-pressure approach toward Iran while maintaining that Iran will never be permitted to acquire a nuclear arsenal.

Although President Trump did not specify which poll he was citing, both the Daily Mail/J.L. Partners and McLaughlin & Associates surveys are among his strongest approval numbers reported this year.

National polling on the president’s overall job approval continues to vary by polling organization and methodology, with some surveys showing lower approval ratings than those two polls.

Monday’s post continues President Trump’s practice of highlighting favorable polling on Truth Social as Republicans seek to build momentum ahead of the November midterm elections.
