During his visit to Verst Logistics in Hebron, President Trump welcomed popular YouTuber and professional boxer Jake Paul on stage. The moment went viral on social media as President Trump connected with the younger generation.
The stop in Kentucky is part of his trip to Ohio and Kentucky. Breitbart reported that while on stage, President Trump had mentioned Paul’s tough fight against former Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua in December.
“Jake Paul is a great guy. He said, ‘Do you mind if I do an interview with you?’ I said, ‘Jake, I’m the president. I don’t do interviews!’ Look at Joe Biden. He went 2.5 years without doing an interview because he was shot … but his local podcast is big stuff.”
President Trump then invited Paul on stage, saying, “This guy has guts, and had he walked out with a broken jaw. This was not the greatest fight, but you know what it showed? Lots of courage. Come here, Jake, say a few words.”
Before President Trump appeared on stage, the two had recorded a podcast episode in which Paul praised the president for continuing to bring manufacturing back to the United States. Paul told the audience, “We need more factories like this thriving all over the country, and I know he’s going to be the one to bring that here to us,” he added. “I know God is with us. I know he wants us on the right side of history, and everyone here has to do their part, and God’s got us, Trump’s got us.”
Paul also praised President Trump as a role model for courage and for never backing down from a fight.
In addition, President Trump also gave his full endorsement to Paul should he wish to run for president. USA Today reported that he told Paul, “I’m going to make a prediction that you will be, in the not-too-distant future, running for political office. You have my complete and total endorsement.”
The touching interaction was widely shared online, along with a fun video of President Trump and Paul doing the president’s trademark dance. The post, shared to Instagram, has already gained more than 24 million views.
