The campaign to rebrand the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (NICE) is one step closer to becoming a reality. President Donald Trump released the new NICE logo on social media Tuesday afternoon.

What began as a lighthearted joke has gained support after ICE agents were deployed to airports to help TSA agents during the partial government shutdown in March.

Footage of ICE agents serving travelers went viral on March 24. Then an American made a simple suggestion on X. The user who goes by the name of Alyssa wrote, โ€œI want Trump to change ICE to NICE (National Immigration and Customs Enforcement) so the media has to say NICE agents all day everyday.โ€

President Trump shared the post on his Truth Social account, calling it a โ€œGreat idea!!!โ€ and adding, โ€œDo it.โ€ He went on to publicly praise ICE agents for undertaking jobs that are not part of their official duties and has continued to float the idea of officially changing ICEโ€™s name to NICE.

Now that a new logo is being circulated to the public, ICE agents are more likely to become NICE agents in the near future.
