President Donald J. Trump reacted to the news that Iran has attacked U.S. ally Israel in a post on Truth Social on Saturday afternoon.
“ISRAEL IS UNDER ATTACK! This should never have been allowed to happen – This would NEVER have happened if I were President!” said the 45th president less than two hours before his rally in Pennsylvania.
Trump also rebuked Joe Biden for not giving a live address to the American people. “Biden, on Israel, didn’t do his ‘Address to the People’ LIVE. He taped it. This is no time for taped speeches!!! DJT” the 45th president posted on Truth Social.
Iran launched a devastating series of drone strikes against Israel on Saturday in an attack U.S. officials had expected for several days. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said the country is on high alert after the “severe and dangerous escalation,” The Hill reported.
Trump allies like Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno defended President Trump’s “peace through strength” approach to global affairs. “President Trump’s strength led to peace around the world,” said Moreno. Contrasting with Biden’s ineptitude on foreign policy, Moreno added, “Biden’s weakness has led to war and massive instability around the world.”
“Praying for our friends in Israel,” the Trump-backed candidate concluded.
Donald Trump Jr., President Trump’s eldest son, made a similar point that hits home as the world braces for repercussions of Biden’s weak leadership.
“Remember when they said Trump would get us into a full-blown war with Iran? Times like these should make us all realize how lucky we were to have Trump, his strength and his resolve.”
