President Donald Trump on Thursday delivered a message to the world amid a freshly signed memorandum of understanding with Iran: “‘You’re welcome!’”
The president’s facetious comment was posted to Truth Social.
“OIL IS FLOWING, IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON (THE WORLD WILL BE SAFE!), THE STOCK MARKETS ARE ROARING, JOBS ARE AT RECORDS, AND PRICES ARE DROPPING (AFFORDABILITY!),” he declared. “OUR COUNTRY IS STRONG, SAFE, AND RESPECTED LIKE NEVER BEFORE.”
As reported by RSBN, President Trump and Iranian regime officials signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) this week that halted the ongoing hostilities and implemented a 60-day timeline for continued negotiations.
“These fools, who think I haven’t been tough enough on Iran, when the Stock Market Just Hit A RECORD HIGH, and Oil prices are ‘tumbling’ down, are either jealous, bad people, or stupid. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” President Trump posted on social media this week, slamming critics amid the diplomatic development.
The MOU was signed during President Trump’s visit to the Palace of Versailles this week, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. The president was in France for the G7 Summit.
During remarks at the summit, the president said that if a final deal wasn’t reached in 60 days, “that’s all right – we go back to bombing. I don’t want to do that because it’s so good, but we might have to because we’re never going to let them have a nuclear weapon.”
According to The New York Times, key points from the MOU reportedly include the safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for the next 60 days, toll-free, relief from many sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and a commitment from Iran that it will not buy or build a nuclear weapon. Importantly, there is also a paragraph in the MOU concerning the termination of military operations in Lebanon – a sticking point between Iran, Israel, and the United States.
