President Trump has harsh words for Ilhan Omar

President Trump had harsh words for Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who came under fire by conservatives this week for “sympathizing” with terrorists.

The 45th president released a statement in which he said the following:

“Congresswoman Ilhan Omar should apologize for marrying her brother, committing large-scale immigration and election fraud, wishing death to Israel, and for essentially abandoning her former country, which doesn’t even have a government—Exactly what she’d like to see for the United States!”

And Trump’s accusations are buttressed by facts.

The congresswoman has previously made controversial comments about Jews and Israel including when she said that Israel had “hypnotized the world,” and claimed that U.S. foreign policy towards Israel was “all about the ‘Benjamins,’ which some consider an anti-Semitic trope.

Omar has also been accused of marrying her brother for immigration purposes. Documents were obtained by The Washington Examiner that shows that Omar was likely married to two men at the same time. One of them is believed to be her brother.

It is alleged that Omar married her brother for immigration purposes. Documents show that she lived with her ex-husband, Ahmed Hirsi, during the time that she was also legally married to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Elmi is allegedly her brother, and it is believed that Omar married Elmi so he could legally enter the United States.

Add to this the fact that she was found to have violated campaign finance laws. In 2019, the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board opened an investigation looking for campaign finance violations she is alleged to have committed.

Minnesota Representative Steve Drazkowski referred Omar to the Campaign Finance Board after alleging that she spent close to $6,000 in campaign funds for personal use.

The congresswoman was accused of spending the money to pay for a trip to Boston and Estonia. She was also accused of spending campaign funds to pay for her divorce.

When Omar was asked about the allegations in a debate, she responded by calling Rep. Drazkowski a “bigot.”

Omar was eventually found guilty of campaign finance violations and ordered to reimburse her campaign committee $3,500 and to pay a $500 civil fine.
