President Donald Trump on Friday announced a jaw-dropping set of agreements with nine major pharmaceutical companies aimed at lowering prescription drug prices for Americans.

“I’m thrilled to be joined by the leaders of nine of the world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers – all very big names, celebrities in their own right, very, very powerful people…to announce that they’ve agreed to offer many of their flagship drugs…at heavily discounted, Most Favored Nation prices,” the president announced during a special ceremony at the White House.

The nine Big Pharma companies represented on Friday were Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb, Boehringer Ingelheim, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, GSK, Merck, Novartis, and Sanofi.

“Whatever the lower number is, if it’s Germany, UK, anywhere, we will match that price,” President Trump explained about Most Favored Nation drug pricing.

“The agreements reduce prices on drugs that treat numerous costly and chronic conditions, including type two diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hepatitis B and C, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and certain cancers, among others,” the White House said.

Bristol Myers Squibb, for example, will provide Eliquis – a popular blood-thinning drug – to Medicaid for free. They have also pledged to invest $40 billion in the U.S. in research, development, and manufacturing.

These nine agreements will provide every state Medicaid program with access to these nine companies’ medications at Most Favored Nation drug pricing, the White House said, which should lower costs significantly across the board.

American patients can see those price reductions on TrumpRx, the administration’s website for direct purchasing of key medications. As of now, the website is set to launch in January 2026.

On Friday, the White House provided a detailed list of medication prices that will be significantly lowered, including:

  • Amgen/Repatha (cholesterol): $573 to $239
  • Boehringer Ingelheim/Jentadeuto (Type 2 Diabetes): $525 to $55
  • Merck/Januvia (diabetes): $330 to $100
  • Novartis/Mayzent (multiple sclerosis): $9987 to $1137

The nine pharmaceutical companies at the White House on Friday agreed to commit a total of $150 billion to U.S. manufacturing and have further agreed to donate important medication ingredients to the Strategic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Reserve to “reduce reliance on foreign nations and ensure the United States has an adequate supply of such products in the event of an emergency.”
