President Trump on Tuesday issued a strong statement warning Hamas that U.S. allies are willing to step in to enforce the recently agreed-upon ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.
“Numerous of our NOW GREAT ALLIES in the Middle East, and areas surrounding the Middle East, have explicitly and strongly, with great enthusiasm, informed me that they would welcome the opportunity, at my request, to go into GAZA with a heavy force and ‘straighten our Hamas’ if Hamas continues to act badly, in violation of their agreement with us,” President Trump said.
Since the signing of the peace agreement over a week ago, both Israel and Hamas have been accused of violations relating to the return of hostages by Hamas and the provision of aid to Gaza.
Trump said he did not think the involvement of other nations was necessary at this point and indicated he was still hopeful that the terms of the ceasefire would be upheld.
“The love and spirit for the Middle East has not been seen like this in a thousand years! It is a beautiful thing to behold!” President Trump said. “I told these countries, and Israel, ‘NOT YET!’ There is still hope that Hamas will do what is right.”
President Trump continued by warning that violations of the ceasefire agreement would not be tolerated.
“If they do not, an end to Hamas will be FAST, FURIOUS, & BRUTAL!” Trump said.
Trump’s statement echoed his comments on Monday that Hamas would be eradicated if violence continued. He concluded his statement by thanking the U.S. allies in the Middle East for their support.
“I would like to thank all of those countries that called to help,” President Trump said. “Also, I would like to thank the great and powerful country of Indonesia, and its wonderful leader, for all of the help they have shown and given to the Middle East, and to the U.S.A. TO EVERYONE, thank you for your attention to this matter!”
