President Trump meets with Nikki Haley amid rumors of 2024 presidential bid

President Donald Trump reportedly met with former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley at Mar-a-Lago last week, leading many to speculate about the nature of their meeting amid rising anticipation of Trump’s potential 2024 bid to take back the White House.

Haley, who also served as an ambassador to the United Nations for President Trump from 2017 to 2018, has also been rumored to be mulling over a bid for the presidency, as well.

However, Haley said in April that she would not run for president if Trump throws his hat into the ring in 2024, according to a report from The Hill.

Haley’s meeting with Trump is surprising, given the nature of her comments regarding the 45th president earlier this year in an interview with Politico, in which she ripped Trump’s actions pertaining to the so-called “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, which has been utilized as an endless political witch hunt against President Trump and his allies.

Despite her criticism of President Trump, she appeared to change her tune this week in a rally in South Carolina in the past week, according to this quote shared from The Hill:

“President Trump and the GOP built one of the hottest economies in American history. Wages rose to new heights. Unemployment fell to record lows. Families thrived and businesses grew. Remember what it was like just two years ago?”

Haley also recently stated that “What started last month will continue next year,” speaking to the nature of the “red wave” of conservative political victories sweeping the country, beginning in the gubernatorial and House of Delegates races in Virginia to the Congressional races in Ohio. “We’ll win back Congress in 2022,” she said. “We’ll win back the country in 2024.”

Haley’s political flip-flopping from being critical of Trump to touting his economic and political success this week, as well as her previous position in his cabinet, is leading some to speculate about her potential political pairing with President Trump going into 2024.

However, Haley is not the only political hopeful considering running for president. Former Vice President Mike Pence is also rumored to be considering a run, although if Trump announces a presidential bid for 2024, it is likely that the political landscape of the GOP will be handily dominated by the 45th president, given his monumental popularity with conservative voters across America.
