President Donald Trump has issued “full, complete and unconditional” pardons to a broad group of allies accused of trying to overturn the 2020 election, U.S. Pardon Attorney Ed Martin announced late Sunday.
Martin released the proclamation on X, saying the pardons cover dozens of people, including Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows and Sidney Powell.
The proclamation states the pardons apply “to all United States citizens for conduct relating to the advice, creation, organization, execution, submission, support, voting, activities, participation in, or advocacy for or of any slate or proposed slate of Presidential electors, whether or not recognized by any State or State official, in connection with the 2020 Presidential Election, as well for any conduct relating to their efforts to expose voting fraud and vulnerabilities in the 2020 Presidential Election.”
Trump listed 77 individuals, while noting the list is “not limited to” those named.
“This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” the document reads.
President Trump added in the proclamation that he did not include himself among the pardons.
“Thank you: @POTUS for allowing me, as U.S. Pardon Attorney, to work with @WhiteHouse
, along with @AGPamBondi, @DAGToddBlanche & SG John Sauer, to achieve your intent—let their healing begin,” Martin wrote on X.
President Trump previously awarded Giuliani with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, announcing plans to do so two days after his longtime ally was severely injured in a car crash.
“As President of the United States of America, I am pleased to announce that Rudy Giuliani, the greatest Mayor in the history of New York City, and an equally great American Patriot, will receive THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, our Country’s highest civilian honor. Details as to time and place to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social in September.
