President Donald Trump slammed the “Fake News” and Iran on Tuesday for parroting contrary talking points about negotiations, and remaining resolute that Iran had agreed to allow nuclear inspections.

“Despite their protestations and false statements to the contrary, coupled with the drumbeat of the Fake News, which is doing everything possible to make the U.S. Victory as small and insignificant as possible, Iran has fully and completely agreed to highest level Nuclear inspections long into the future (Infinity!!!),” the president wrote on Truth Social.

The president noted that while the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz had been lifted, U.S. Navy ships will remain in place “should it be necessary to reinstitute the Blockade, which seems, at this point, highly unlikely.”

This development comes after Vice President J.D. Vance announced during talks in Switzerland that Iran had agreed to invite inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency back into their country.

“That is a major milestone for the American people and the first step in permanently ending a nuclear weapons program in Iran,” the vice president said.

In his statement on Tuesday, President Trump suggested that the inspections were the crux of the main negotiations. “If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations!” he wrote. “Based on this and other major concessions being made by Iran, I have agreed to allow the Hormuz Strait to remain OPEN, with no further Naval Blockade.”

The president’s specific refutation of the “Fake News” likely stems from the Iranian regime’s public talking points being discussed on national outlets. For example, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei, speaking from Tehran following the U.S.-Iran talks in Switzerland, claimed that there was no mechanism in place at this time to allow inspectors into Iranian nuclear sites damaged in the war.

“They’re wrong,” President Donald Trump told reporters on Tuesday of these claims by Iranian talking heads. “They know they’re wrong. They told us inside, we have it down, 100 percent, inspections. And if they were right, I’d cancel the meetings right now.”
