President Donald Trump said he plans to reshape the federal workforce and cut “Democrat Agencies” amid the ongoing government shutdown.

In a post to Truth Social, the president announced that he and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought would meet to determine which of these Democratic Party organizations should be cut, and whether the cuts would be temporary or permanent.

“I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent,” he wrote Thursday.

The president continued, “I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity. They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

President Trump previously called on Republicans to view the shutdown as an opportunity to reduce federal spending, with his administration preparing to freeze funds and implement layoffs.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also said layoffs were “imminent,” while the OMB announced an $18 billion freeze on infrastructure funding for New York’s subway and Hudson Tunnel projects, RSBN reported.

In an earlier post to X on Wednesday, Vought echoed similar sentiments to the president, claiming that billions of dollars in “Green New Scam funding” for the Democrat Party’s climate agenda would be cancelled soon.

“Nearly $8 billion in Green New Scam funding to fuel the Left’s climate agenda is being cancelled,” he wrote.

According to Vought, these projects are located in the following blue states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont and Washington.
