President Donald Trump on Tuesday blasted California Gov. Gavin Newsom, claiming the governor is moving forward with plans to build low-income housing in Pacific Palisades, a wealthy Los Angeles suburb devastated by wildfires earlier this year.

“Shockingly, I have just learned, that Gavin Newscum, the Governor of California, is in final stages of approval to build Low Income Housing in Pacific Palisades,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“How unfair is that to the people that have suffered so much! Newscum allowed their houses to burn by not accepting Hundreds of Millions of Gallons of Water from the Pacific Northwest, and now, the Low Income Housing starts rising long before he gets Permits for California Citizens to rebuild, but long after the Federal Permits were issued,” he added.

Trump added that federal agencies had already taken action to expedite the recovery.

“Lee Zeldin, EPA Administrator, and I, as President, have done the job, and produced all Permits long before anybody expected that to happen. Unfortunately, the Governor of California and Mayor Karen Bass failed you,” he wrote.

The president also argued that Newsom’s housing plan mirrored policies that damaged the political career of former New York City Mayor John Lindsay.

“Gavin Newscum’s plan to build Low Income Housing (at the Super Luxury Pacific Palisades Fire Site) is what caused the destruction of the Late, Great New York City Mayor John Lindsay’s Political Career — and John Lindsay was a Republican,” the president stated.

Trump surveyed wildfire damage in California earlier this year in one of his first trips after returning to office. He previously criticized California’s response to the fires in January.

“The fires are still raging in L.A. The incompetent pols have no idea how to put them out. Thousands of magnificent houses are gone, and many more will soon be lost,” he stated.

“There is death all over the place. This is one of the worst catastrophes in the history of our Country. They just can’t put out the fires. What’s wrong with them?” Trump added.

The attacks come after Trump blasted California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass last week for mismanaging the response to the region’s fires.

“Fire is spreading rapidly for 3 days — ZERO CONTAINMENT. Nobody has ever seen such failed numbers before! Gross incompetence by Gavin Newscum and Karen Bass….And Biden’s FEMA has no money — all wasted on the Green New Scam! L.A. is a total wipeout!!!” Trump wrote.
