President Donald Trump is holding firm that birthright citizenship should not give the children of noncitizens a free pass to American citizenship as the Supreme Court begins to examine the legality of the issue.

In a post to Truth Social, President Trump reminded Americans, “Birthright Citizenship has to do with the babies of slaves, not Chinese Billionaires who have 56 kids, all of whom ‘become’ American Citizens.”

He referenced the recent Will Cain Fox News report, which was posted to X by the Red Wave Press, and alleged that Chinese billionaire Xo Bo has over 100 children who were born in the United States via surrogacy.

For years, concerns regarding birth tourism have mounted. Upon regaining office for his second term, the 47th President signed an Executive Order to end birthright citizenship tourism. This is now being legally challenged, with opening arguments scheduled before the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

According to the Washington Examiner, it is the first case of its kind in over 100 years and will determine whether all babies born in the U.S. are granted citizenship regardless of their parents’ legal status.

The historic Trump v. Barbara case was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation (ACLU), and could affect approximately 150,000 children born to non-citizens within the U.S. each year, per Fox News.

President Trump reportedly plans to attend the opening arguments. If he does, he will be the first sitting President in U.S. history to do so, via AP News
