Republican Mike Lawler has issued high praise for President Trump’s efforts in the negotiations involving the U.S.-Iran ceasefire despite Democrats’ opposition and blindness to the dangers of Iran’s nuclear weapons.
Breitbart reported that during Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Lawler criticized his Democrat colleagues for not applauding President Trump’s effort and accused them of allowing their opposition to President Trump to drive their actions rather than policy. He said,
“I think the fact that a two-week ceasefire was negotiated, that there will be continuing negotiations on these remaining points, including the removal of the enriched uranium that is vital.” Under the ceasefire, the U.S., working with Iran, will dig up all the buried B-2 Bombers.
In a Truth Social post shared by RSBN, President Trump indicated that the country would continue to pursue negotiations with Tehran. He wrote, “The United States will work closely with Iran, which we have determined has gone through what will be a very productive Regime Change!”
Despite the ceasefire, Democrats are still opposing President Trump’s actions in achieving the ceasefire and the country’s involvement in the war.
Lawler slammed those Democrats on the show, saying, “And for my Democratic colleagues, who have all but been rooting for failure here. I think they need to wake up to the fact that after 47 years of a terrorist regime that has sought to ensure Death to America, that it is time for all of us to unify behind the objective here.”
He also added that President Trump is working to “ ensure that Iran never possesses a nuclear weapon, that their reign of terror and funding of terror proxies in the region comes to an end, and that the threats they pose to their neighbors and our allies and assets, our military assets in the region, be eliminated.”
Lawler called out every member of Congress to take note of what President Trump has achieved. He said, “Sadly, some of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle fail to recognize what has happened over these five weeks because they have allowed their hatred of Donald Trump to reign supreme.”
