Visitors touring the White House on Tuesday for the first public tour in years were treated to a very surprise special greeting from President Donald Trump, who praised First Lady Melania Trump for her hard work in readying the prestigious home for the American people.

“The tour is so great…the First Lady worked so hard in making it perfect,” he said. “And I think you’re going to really love it.”

The special moment was captured on video and posted to X by White House Special Assistant and Communications Advisor Margo Martin.

The president told the crowd that when he heard the first tour was walking through the White House, he remarked, “Let’s stop by and say hello!”

The crowd was excited to see the 47th president and excitedly took photos and videos of him as he spoke.

The president also added, “There’s nothing like the White House. No matter where you go, you know, the biggest people come here…When they walk into the Oval Office, there’s nothing like it.”

“Have a good time, have a great tour, and you’re going to give them the special tour…have fun, everybody!” the president added.

The crowd broke out into chants of “USA!” as the president bid the group farewell with a smile and a fist in the air.

The White House is now officially open for tours. Those wishing to visit must request the tour through their representatives (senator or congressperson). According to the official website, the roughly 45-minute tour offers access to the public rooms in the lovely home, along with views of American historical artifacts displayed there, including furniture and artwork.

The First Lady announced the reopening of the White House to the public earlier in February, and she made quick work of the project. “There is much to learn about the American presidency, the First Families who have lived here, and our Nation’s rich history from a firsthand experience at the White House,” she said in a statement.

Tours of the White House are free to the public. Foreign visitors may request a tour by contacting their country’s embassy, according to the tour site.
