President Donald Trump is set to attend the dignified transfer of fallen U.S. service members on Tuesday evening at Dover Air Force Base, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
“The President and the entire White House are praying for their families,” Leavitt said in a statement posted to social media.
This comes after the U.S. Central Command revealed that three U.S. servicemembers had perished in attacks linked to Iranian strikes over the weekend. Two of them were killed following an Iranian attack in Jordan, and a separate death occurred in northern Iraq linked to the controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from an Iranian drone, RSBN reported.
Yet another service member was reported missing following the attack in Jordan. “After a thorough search, U.S. military personnel found unidentified remains at the location earlier today. An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing,” CENTCOM stated on Sunday.
On Monday, the Department of War identified two of the casualties in the attack on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan: 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carollton, Texas.
According to the U.S. Defense Casualty Analysis System, 14 American warriors have lost their lives since the launch of the war in late February. With the addition of the three U.S. servicemembers who perished in the Middle East this weekend, the projected casualty count may be as high as 17.
On Monday afternoon, U.S. forces continued a tenth consecutive wave of attacks on the Iranian regime at the direction of the U.S. Commander in Chief, per CENTCOM.
“Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!” President Trump warned in a statement. “This directive has been passed on to Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Daniel Caine, and every Leader in the Military.”
