President Trump has issued a strong statement vowing to protect American farmers amid ongoing trade negotiations with China. In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump highlighted the impact of reciprocal Chinese tariffs on U.S. soybean crops and vowed to find a resolution that would benefit American farmers moving forward. He also signaled federal financial support for soybean farmers until the trade negotiations with China are finalized.

“The Soybean Farmers of our Country are being hurt because China is, for ‘negotiating’ reasons only, not buying,” President Trump said. “We’ve made so much money on Tariffs, that we are going to take a small portion of that money, and help our Farmers. I WILL NEVER LET OUR FARMERS DOWN!”

The U.S. has historically been the primary supplier of soybeans to China. However, China has recently shifted its soybean crop purchase to Argentina, as the Trump administration has sought to establish a more balanced trade relationship between China and the U.S.

Trump proceeded to criticize the Biden administration for failing to enforce the trade deals he had negotiated with China during his first term in office.

“Sleepy Joe Biden didn’t enforce our Agreement with China, where they were going to purchase Billions of Dollars of our Farm Product, but Soybeans, in particular,” Trump said. “It’s all going to work out very well. I LOVE OUR PATRIOTS, AND EVERY FARMER IS EXACTLY THAT!”

Trump indicated that he would work to resolve the matter with Chinese President Xi Jinping in an upcoming meeting to further trade negotiations.

“I’ll be meeting with President Xi, of China, in four weeks, and Soybeans will be a major topic of discussion,” President Trump said. “MAKE SOYBEANS, AND OTHER ROW CROPS, GREAT AGAIN!
