President Donald Trump announced this week that he will be addressing the nation on Wednesday night, live from the White House.

This announcement marks a rare but important primetime address for the 45th and 47th president, who may be poised to deliver remarks honoring the Christmas season, although no specific topic has yet been released by the White House.

President Donald Trump broke the news of his upcoming address on Truth Social.

He wrote, “My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”

The president most recently addressed the nation in late November, following a shooting in Washington, D.C., that critically injured one National Guard member, Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, and killed another, Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom.

President Donald Trump has had a busy first year back in office, signing just over 220 executive orders, sealing major trade deals, implementing tariffs on trade partners globally, and brokering multiple peace arrangements between several countries.

The administration also recently launched a new website, “MerryChristmas.gov,” highlighting, over the span of 12 days, “moments of design, innovation, and public work initiated by the federal government that helped shape the nation.”

So far, the site has featured the Works Progress Administration’s nostalgic poster program, the creation of the Great Seal of the United States in 1782, and the 1950s-era development of Interstate Highway System signage.

President Donald Trump’s national address will take place at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesday, December 17, per the president.
