President Donald Trump will waste no time in zeroing in the next important Republican primary milestone in the 2024 race to the White House, setting his sights on New Hampshire just one day after the Iowa caucuses.
The president’s campaign announced that Trump will deliver remarks in Atkinson, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 5:00 p.m. ET at the Atkinson Country Club.
In New Hampshire, Trump is the favorite to win the state’s Republican Party nomination. After what will likely be a big win for the 45th president in the Hawkeye State in the wake of Iowa’s famous caucuses, the next early primary contest will take place in the Granite State on Jan. 23.
According to a new poll from Emerson College, Trump is holding a 16-point lead over Haley in New Hampshire, who has only risen to second place in the polls amid Gov. Ron DeSantis’s, R-Fla., sinking support.
With no other candidates in the race, Trump still beats Nikki Haley in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup in Iowa and New Hampshire, according to data from McLaughlin & Associates.
For example, in a head-to-head, Trump beats Haley by at least eight points in New Hampshire and 16 points in Iowa.
However, Trump is wildly popular nationwide and is leading the GOP party’s nomination battle with a monstrous 55-point gap over Gov. DeSantis and Haley, who both tied at just 10 percent of national support among Republican primary voters, via TIPP Insights.
If Trump locks up the GOP battle for the nomination in Iowa and New Hampshire, it all but guarantees his win. Those two early battleground states are key in winning the nomination, and President Trump is in an excellent position to win both of them in January.
The president is also scheduled to hold a MAGA rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Saturday, Jan. 20. He will cap off the weekend with another speech on Sunday, Jan. 21, in Rochester.
