A June jobs report has revealed that President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration has paid off as the country’s workforce becomes more American.

According to Breitbart, the June jobs report from the Department of Labor shows that President Trump’s policies on illegal immigration have reshaped the composition of the labor market, with the number of foreign-born people in the labor force falling by 700,000 from June of last year, dropping from 32.6 million to 31.9 million.

In addition, the foreign-born share of the labor force fell from roughly 19.0 percent in June 2025 to 18.7 percent in June 2026. The report also showed that the foreign-born civilian population fell by 571,000, from 49.1 million to 48.6 million.

The numbers in the report show that President Trump’s border policies have pushed employers to hire Americans already in the country. According to Homeland Security, “In President Trump’s first year back in office, nearly 3 million illegal aliens have left the U.S. because of the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration, including an estimated 2.2 million self-deportations and more than 675,000 deportations.”

What’s more impressive is that as of May this year, DHS had arrested 900,000 illegal aliens.

In addition to a decline in the foreign-born population in the labor force, June also saw job growth. Fox Business shared that the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that employers added 57,000 jobs in June.

While this number is below the estimate of economists polled by LSEG, who estimated 110,000 jobs added, the labor market did see additional growth as the unemployment rate dipped to 4.2 percent.

Breitbart reported that while the native-born labor force also declined over the past year from 445,000 to 138.3 million, this is a reflection of the large numbers of older Americans who are retiring.

According to the news outlet, these stats are not too worrying, as the underlying population trend reveals that the native-born civilian population increased by more than 2.1 million.

These positive stats show that once again President Trump has met his promises of building the American workforce, and the American worker will benefit.
