House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., released an official statement slamming the Biden administration’s tragic Afghanistan withdrawal and demanding that Biden declassify the documents.
On the two-year anniversary of the catastrophic withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan ordered by Joe Biden, Stefanik released a statement promising accountability and oversight of the tragedy. Stefanik feels it is high time that the people of America know the truth about Biden’s reckless decision.
The statement released on Stefanik’s website said, “As the Representative for Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division that deployed to Afghanistan over 30 times during the 20 years of U.S. military presence, I promise to ensure accountability and oversight into Joe Biden’s reckless decisions that led to this failure.”
Biden’s decision to withdraw troops from Afhganstiatn during the unstable fighting season led to the loss of 13 servicemembers, a loss that many agree could have been avoided.
Today Vivek Ramaswamy also called out the Biden Administration about their reckless decision and the lack of accountability. Ramaswamy wrote on X, “The sheer incompetence was staggering, it’s been two years, and no one has been held accountable.”
Stefanik points out that U.S. military leaders had told her that they advised Biden against the decision and that he had ignored their advice.
She wrote, “In Congress, I demanded the Biden Administration declassify documents to ensure the American people know the truth, and I questioned U.S. military leaders who made it clear that Joe Biden ignored their advice.”
This not only cost the lives of 13 servicemembers but also resulted in $8 billion worth of U.S. military weapons left in the hands of the Taliban.
Stefanik demands that “the Biden administration must answer to the Gold Star families and the American people for this deadly failure.”
Not only is Biden facing major criticism about his costly decision, but he’s also now facing mourning criticism as he ignores the Maui wildfire disaster.
