President Donald Trump was reportedly deposed for seven hours on Thursday in New York as he faced state Attorney General Letitia James, who sued him in 2022 for allegedly fraudulent business activities, Just the News reported.
Trump, who announced that he would be heading downtown to meet with James on Thursday morning, slammed the “leak” that alerted the press to his deposition.
“The leak makes it much more difficult for the Police and Secret Service to do their job,” he wrote on Truth Social. “This civil case is ridiculous, just like all of the other Election Interference cases being brought against me. If I had a fair judge, this case would have never happened. MAGA!”
James brought a civil suit against Trump in 2022, seeking at least $250 million, as reported by RSBN.
Trump attorney Alina Habba told the Associated Press that President Trump on Thursday was “not only willing but also eager to testify.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., a close ally of President Trump, revealed on Twitter that she had spoken with him after being deposed on Thursday.
“I just spoke to our great 45th POTUS, Donald J Trump and future 47th POTUS, after he spent all day being questioned by vicious Lying Loser Leticia,” she wrote. “He told the court how incredibly successful he and his family have been truly living the American Dream! Joe Biden couldn’t have found the courtroom, let alone sat there for hours, and has nothing but corrupt business stories to hide!”
Letitia James has come under fire by Trump and his allies for her public bias against the 45th president. As RSBN reported, she was repeatedly caught on video campaigning on a platform that promised to pursue the political persecution of Donald Trump.
The Trump campaign also released a lengthy statement on “the TRUTH about Letitia James” on Thursday while Trump was in New York:
“Letitia James is a Soros-funded Democrat attorney general, who made clear that ‘getting Trump’ was the motivating force behind her campaign. On the campaign trail, James promised to start an illegal and unconstitutional witch-hunt against President Trump, ‘I look forward to going into the Office of Attorney General every day, suing him. . . and then going home!’”
This week, President Trump suggested that the civil case should be tried in front of the Commercial Division, “not in front of a highly partisan, Trump Hating Judge” in New York.
