In the wake of a school shooting in Minneapolis that was perpetrated by an alleged transgender individual, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has indicated that his agency and the NIH will investigate the effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor drugs (SSRIs) and their potential link to violence.
“We’re launching studies on the potential contribution of some of the SSRI drugs and some of the other psychiatric drugs that might be contributing to violence,” he said during an interview on Fox News.
As reported by RSBN, this week’s horrific mass shooting at a Catholic school resulted in the deaths of two children and the injury of 14 more. The alleged perpetrator has been reported to be Robert Westman, a man who had been known to identify as a woman, Robin Westman.
According to the New York Post, he allegedly admitted in his own manifesto that he was “tired of being trans” and wished that he had “never brain-washed” himself.
In 2023, another shooting took place in Nashville, Tennessee. That killing spree was also masterminded by a transgender individual who was eventually shot and killed by police.
It is not uncommon for both SSRIs and hormone therapy to be prescribed in conjunction for those who are undergoing “gender affirming” treatment.
“Was the shooter on hormone therapy? Was he on SSRIs? We deserve to know. It is not hateful to seek the truth,” wrote Turning Point USA President Charlie Kirk.
It has raised the question of whether transgender-instigated violence is on the rise, and whether such potentially volatile medical treatments may contribute to aberrant behavior.
“There are black box warnings on some of these psychiatric drugs that warn about in their clinical trials that they saw suicidal and homicidal ideation. So, you know, we are going into that with an open mind,” Kennedy said on Fox.
