President Donald Trump’s historic rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday was a conglomerate of speeches from allies, some new and some old, encouraging Americans to vote for him in the upcoming presidential election.
As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. took the stage, he was met with cheers from the massive crowd.
He began his remarks by making clear that he never left the Democratic Party, it left him. He listed the party’s beliefs of yesteryear and offered a sharp contrast to what it believes today.
He explained that Trump called him just three hours after the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania, and asked for a meeting.
He told the crowd that Trump said, “There are some things that we can agree on and some we disagree on, but the landscapes on which we agree are so much larger.”
He listed what Trump told him would be top priorities during his second term. “I want to end the wars. I want to end the surveillance and censorship. I want to protect the Constitution. I want to protect freedom of speech. I want to end the surveillance. I want to end the weaponization of government against American politicians. And I want to end the chronic disease epidemic.”
Kennedy then made his case to the crowd with a series of questions, each receiving a thunderous response.
“Don’t you think that we deserve a president in this country who’s going to restore the moral authority of the United States of America?” Kennedy began.
He then asked, “Don’t you think that we deserve a president who’s going to end the warfare state and rebuild the middle class?”
He continued, “Don’t you want a president who’s going to put America first? And don’t you want a president who’s going to protect our children? And who’s going to protect women’s sports? And who’s going to stop dividing this country along racial lines?”
Kennedy concluded his remarks with perhaps his biggest reason for joining forces with Trump. “And don’t you want a president who’s going to end the corruption at the federal agencies? At FDA, at NIH, at CDC, and at the CIA. And don’t you want a president who’s going to make America healthy again? And don’t you want a president who’s going to make America great again? Then we need to go to the polls on November 5 and vote for Donald Trump. God bless you and God bless America.”
