The Republican National Committee said Tuesday it was involved in 134 active legal cases across the country in 2025, part of what the party described as a broad effort to strengthen election integrity and protect free speech rights.
According to the RNC’s annual legal recap, the party is also pursuing more than 150 investigatory and regulatory actions spanning all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
“The RNC had an incredible year standing up for common sense election laws and defending election integrity across the country,” RNC Chair Joe Gruters said in a statement, according to Newsmax. “Because of the hard work of our legal and grassroots teams, voters can have greater confidence in the integrity of our elections.”
Of the 134 active lawsuits, 115 are directly related to election procedures, the committee said, reflecting former President Donald Trump’s directive to ensure that elections are “secure and free of fraud.”
One of the most closely watched cases, Watson v. Republican National Committee, is expected to reach the U.S. Supreme Court this spring. The case will decide whether federal law requires mail-in ballots to be received by Election Day instead of being counted in the days afterward.
The RNC said its legal teams have been active in 37 states, with the greatest concentration of litigation in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. These states remain key battleground states for the 2026 midterm elections.
Among its recent victories, the RNC highlighted a New York court ruling blocking non-citizens from voting, a successful challenge in Arizona to non-resident voter registration, and a ballot security case in Michigan that went against the state’s secretary of state.
In addition to ongoing litigation, the RNC said it is monitoring election procedures and voter roll maintenance through more than 150 investigatory and regulatory actions designed to ensure compliance with state and federal election laws.
