The controversial border package, which prioritized billions in aid to other countries, was blocked by Republicans in the Senate on Wednesday.
According to AP News, the bill did not receive the 60 votes required to pass, receiving a 49-50 split.
The mainstream media repeatedly touted the bill as a bipartisan compromise, although it came just as the Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives continued seeking to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the ongoing border crisis via RSBN.
In addition, Republicans voiced opposition to the so-called “bipartisan” package due to the $60 billion in aid for Ukraine and $14 billion for Israel included in the legislation.
As the politically skeptical comedian George Carlin stated in his book “Brain Droppings” in 1997, “The word bipartisan usually means some larger-than-usual deception is being carried out.”
Senate Republicans apparently agreed with that philosophy Wednesday as the border bill failed to pass due to its provisions weighing the safety of Americans and their nation as equal to that of aiding in foreign conflicts.
