Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., celebrated some of the biggest wins from the Republican-controlled House of Representatives this week, touting the GOP’s commitment to “changing Congress.”

“House Republicans are keeping our commitment and changing Congress,” McCarthy wrote on Twitter, listing the following Republican triumphs since the GOP took control of the House in January:

  • “Repealed 87,000 IRS agents,
  • Allowed for open amendments,
  • Nullified DC’s soft-on-crime law,
  • Ended proxy voting for Congress,
  • Passed the Parents Bill of Rights,
  • Created a China Select Committee.”

Since the Republicans regained control of the House, they have spearheaded several committee investigations into federal and executive matters that have made headlines for their demands for accountability.

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, for example, recently conducted an extensive review of bank records linked to the Biden family, finding evidence that traced millions of dollars in alleged payments from a Chinese energy company to Joe Biden’s family members.

In March, the House also passed the Parents Bill of Rights (H.R. 5), which legislated the following rights of parents in America, according to Speaker McCarthy:

1. “Right to know what’s being taught in schools and see reading materials.

2. Right to be heard.

3. Right to see school budgets and spending.

4. Right to protect your child’s privacy.

5. Right to be notified of any violent activity at school.”

“But unfortunately, the Democrats are too extreme to believe that parents should have a say in their kids’ education,” McCarthy explained in a press conference following the successful passage of the bill.

The Republican House also sent a bipartisan bill to Joe Biden’s desk in March that called for declassifying the origins of Covid. Via RSBN, the legislation was overwhelmingly passed in the House in March following its approval in the Senate. Joe Biden signed the bill into law on March 20, Reuters reported.
