The first few weeks of President Donald Trump’s second presidential administration have been a rapid-fire swirl of executive orders, memorandums, negotiations, and announcements.

It’s hard to keep up with the daily accomplishments of the Trump administration. Whether it’s executive orders protecting women’s sports or executing tariffs against foreign countries who have taken advantage of American generosity for far too long, one thing is clear: President Trump’s second term is not slowing down.

Here are some of the highlights from the president’s first six weeks in office.

Obtaining operational control of the border and immigration

The president’s number one issue while campaigning in 2024 was illegal immigration. According to the White House, “President Trump has successfully shut down border crossings with record low attempts in February and reports of illegal immigrants now turning around in Mexico.”

They also reported a 600 percent increase in ICE arrests of illegals compared to the previous administration.

“We are dead serious about 100% OPERATIONAL CONTROL of the southern border,” Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth wrote on X, responding to the DOD deployment of a Stryker Brigade combat team to the southern border.

The first legislation President Trump signed during the opening days of his first term in office was the immigration-focused Laken Riley Act (S.5), so named in honor of the slain 22-year-old Georgia nursing student killed by an illegal alien.

This bill empowers federal law enforcement to detain illegal migrants for lesser offenses, such as theft, rather than simply letting them loose onto the streets.

Economic strength and resilience

On the heels of Joe Biden’s nightmarish economic policies that caused rapid hyperinflation, President Donald Trump has taken swift action to assuage painful price points for everyday Americans.

For starters, the president has secured over $1 trillion in investments in the United States from massive companies like Apple and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp, which promises to bring thousands of high-paying jobs into the domestic United States.

He declared a National Energy Emergency upon taking office, immediately kick-starting domestic oil drilling to address sky-high gas prices and opened up off-shore drilling. He additionally made good on his promises to terminate the Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandate and end the Green New “Scam.”

Additionally, President Trump has imposed 25 percent tariffs on Mexico and Canada in retaliation for their refusal to stop the deadly flow of drugs, most prominently fentanyl, into the United States. China has also been tariffed a total of 20 percent at this point, as reported by RSBN.

The president also plans to impose reciprocal tariffs on trade beginning April 2.

Further, the White House announced last week that Trump would host the first-ever White House crypto summit as more proof that his administration is serious about solidifying America’s dominance in the world of digital assets.

Cutting fraud and waste with DOGE

The Department of Government Efficiency, importantly spearheaded by Elon Musk, has made tremendous progress in just a few weeks by exposing obscene waste and abuse in the federal system. Per the White House, DOGE’s findings have led to the termination of 89 contracts worth $881 million at the Department of Education, as well as the cancelation of 29 DEI contracts worth another $101 million.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There have been hundreds of millions in additional savings thanks to DOGE, mostly centered on the cancelation of needless contracts that were funding things like gender ideology, DEI programs, and mysterious consultations on the federal level.

The president said during his first cabinet meeting last week that he would like to see DOGE cut up to $1 trillion in waste. Elon Musk agreed.

“DOGE is a support function for the president and for the agencies and departments to help achieve those savings,” Musk stated.

Foreign policy and affairs

President Trump has hosted multiple foreign leaders at the White House and worked diligently to quickly restore America’s position as a strong and respected nation again on the world stage.

Since taking office just a few weeks ago, Trump has hosted the leaders of Israel, Jordan, India, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, and Ukraine.

The president has also remained firm in his position that peace must be achieved in Eastern Europe, and stood up strongly for the United States and for peace during a heated meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky last week. “President Trump will not stop till there is peace in Ukraine,” the White House stated on that point.

Taking powerful measures to bring back common sense

The president has signed over 80 executive orders since January 20, taking action to protect women’s sports from transgender athletes, ending destructive DEI programs, terminating America’s inclusion with the World Health Organization, and nixing federal funding for schools engaging in mandating the Covid-19 vaccine, per the White House.

The president also fulfilled his campaign promises with executive orders addressing issues like in-vitro fertilization costs and canceling visas for foreign students who sympathize with Hamas or antisemitism.

He also announced early Tuesday morning that federal funding for colleges, schools, or universities who allow illegal protests will be halted, and agitators will be “imprisoned/or permanently sent back to the country from which they came.”

American agitators will be expelled, he said, or arrested.

Assembling the Dream Team

President Donald Trump has enjoyed the quick and successful confirmation of all 19 of his cabinet picks, ranging from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the new secretary of Health and Human Services to Scott Turner as the new secretary of Housing and Urban Development, the White House announced.

President Trump has even secured the confirmation of Kash Patel as the new director of the FBI, as well as the appointment of Dan Bongino as deputy director.

Looking ahead

It’s hard to believe that President Trump’s administration has achieved so much in such a short window of time, and with four years of leadership ahead, it’s exciting to imagine how much more winning could be on the horizon.
