“In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths” -Proverbs 3:6

Do we acknowledge God in all of our ways? Unfortunately, we often find it challenging to seek God in every aspect of our lives.

Paul taught the following lesson:

“But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:21-23).

Paying careful attention to verse 23, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In the Scriptures, we also read, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).

The message of the Bible is that good works do not earn salvation. We are saved strictly by faith and grace alone.

While we can acknowledge that we are sinners and often fall short of any biblical standard, it is crucial that we continue to seek wisdom and heavenly guidance from the Lord.

Analyzing Proverbs 3 emphasizes this point, as the lesson is taught to not only turn away from evil (Proverbs 3:7) but also to avoid relying on one’s own understanding and to constantly seek God’s will.

Sin is powerful and an obstacle that brings destruction and hampers daily living. Alternatively, the ways of the Lord are classified as “good.” The verse, “The righteous shall live by faith,” found in Galatians 3:11 and Romans 1:17, is the motto all believers should seek.

Faith in Jesus Christ can define your worldview and be the foundation of every aspect of your life. When faced with an uncomfortable scenario or a devastating loss, the heavenly guidance of Jesus will get you through such a situation.

Faith is at the core of Christian belief. If you allow heavenly wisdom to supersede your own understanding, your life’s trajectory will change through faith.

As the famous hymn “Amazing Grace” reads, “I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.”

Jesus promised He would always be with us in this fallen world (John 14:16-17). From His gift of salvation to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we are not alone on this earth. He desires us to rely on God for minuscule decisions and in the most tragic events of our lives. Let us remember heavenly direction is possible if we trust fully in Christ.
