President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign launched what it calls the most extensive surrogate operation in the history of presidential politics.
The “Team Trump Agenda 47 Policy Tour” will feature prominent figures in politics, influential celebrities and everyday Americans across key swing states in the GOP’s effort to help Trump “Make America Great Again.”
“President Trump is supported by an impressive array of exceptionally talented individuals who bring different expertise and backgrounds to the table. We look forward to deploying these surrogates across the country to meet with voters and relay President Trump’s vision to Make America Strong, Safe, and Prosperous Again,” said Karoline Leavitt, National Press Secretary for the Trump Campaign.
According to the Trump campaign’s statement, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), former Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon, former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith will met with local small business owners on Tuesday in Gwinnett County to discuss how Trump’s policies will reinvigorate the economy.
Also on Tuesday in Mesa, Arizona, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, former California Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado and Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) participated in a town hall to discuss how Trump’s successful immigration policies could end the Harris border crisis.
“The Biden-Harris administration even attacked Texas and fought against us as we were trying to secure our own border,” Abbott said Tuesday, according to AC Central.
“Remember those big orange buoys that I put into the Rio Grande River? … I deployed them because Joe Biden would not,” he added.
Thursday, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson, Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) and conservative commentator Monica Crowley will be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to discuss the economy.
The conservative surrogates will conduct town hall-style events in key battleground states to discuss specific issues such as the economy, the border crisis and ending the threat of World War III, according to the statement.
In addition to the Agenda 47 tour events, vice presidential nominee JD Vance will speak in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday. Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, on Saturday at 1 p.m. local time.
The ongoing campaign efforts seek to increase support in the battleground states where many polls show Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in a statistical tie.
The Trump campaign claimed in a Tuesday memo that Trump “has the momentum” to win in November. A Sept. 10 presidential debate is also set on ABC in Philadelphia which could potentially serve as a game-changer in the presidential race.
