The border crisis roller coaster continued this week after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton celebrated a brief Supreme Court victory that was paused yet again.

Paxton posted to X Tuesday afternoon, stating, “HUGE WIN: Texas has defeated the Biden Administration’s and ACLU’s emergency motions at the Supreme Court. Our immigration law, SB 4, is now in effect.”

However, late Tuesday night the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit decided to hear a Biden administration lawsuit opposing Texas SB 4, per the Washington Examiner. This legislation allows state law enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants and detain them.

The Washington Examiner also reported that the appeals court panel noted they will hear oral arguments to “consider the Appellants’ Motion to Stay Preliminary Injunction Pending Appeal” at 11 a.m. ET Wednesday, March 20.

Circuit Judge Andrew Oldham stated, “Earlier today, the Supreme Court of the United States restored an administrative stay so our panel could review the State’s request for emergency relief under Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure.”

“I would leave that stay in place pending tomorrow’s oral argument on the question,” he added.

As the Texas bill continues to be debated in court, the border crisis rages on. Since the Biden administration took power, 7.2 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States, per the New York Post.

Furthermore, multiple violent crimes have been committed by illegal immigrants across the nation. On Tuesday, an illegal immigrant was arrested for stabbing two individuals at a Missouri laundromat, per the Post Millennial.

Last month, WSBV-TV Atlanta reported the details of the Laken Riley murder, which shocked the nation after she was kidnapped and violently murdered. An illegal immigrant with potential ties to a Venezuelan gang is facing multiple charges for the crimes involved, per Washington Times
