FBI director Chris Wray failed to comply with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena of a document in connection with the Biden family crime investigation. The deadline ended Tuesday, and now the committee is preparing to hold Wray in contempt.

On Tuesday night, Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., tweeted, “I will now take steps to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt of Congress. The FBI isn’t above Congress.”

He then shared a clip of his Fox News Hannity interview detailing the situation. Comer noted, “He’s given us the runaround for three weeks. He’s just stalling.”

Comer also detailed how the House Oversight Committee is already preparing to hold Wray in contempt.

A warning letter was issued last week, per the New York Post. In response, the FBI stated, “Releasing confidential source information could potentially jeopardize investigations and put lives at risk.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., is supporting plans to hold Chris Wray in contempt. She tweeted, “FBI Director Wray’s continuous attempts to protect Joe Biden and his entire criminal family to further our country’s two-tiered justice system must come to an end.”

Greene attached an official statement from Comer, detailing that he has a phone call scheduled with Wray Wednesday, but that will not prevent the House Oversight Committee from holding him in contempt.

Comer also noted in the statement, “Americans deserve the truth, and the Oversight Committee will continue to demand transparency from the nation’s chief law enforcement agency.”
