During a rally in Traverse City, Michigan, Friday night, President Donald Trump explained why his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris is in “freefall with the Arab and Muslim population in Michigan.”
He stated, “She sent their jobs overseas, brought crime to their cities, and tonight in the Middle East it’s like a tinderbox–it’s ready to explode.”
“People are being killed at levels that we’ve never seen before,” he added.
This came on the same night that Israel began an airstrike attack on Iran, to retaliate against the 200 rockets that Tehran set on them earlier this month, per the New York Post.
The latest Arab News/YouGov poll found that 45 percent of Arab Americans plan to vote for President Trump, while only 43 percent favor Harris.
This two-point overall lead is widened on Trump’s key issues. He holds a six-point lead over Harris regarding which candidate Arab Americans believe will resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict and a nine-point lead on the economy.
The poll also found that the majority of respondents believe in restricting abortions, another strong issue for the 45th president.
In addition, 43 percent of respondents admitted that they voted for President Joe Biden in 2020, compared to only 34 percent who voted for Trump.
After four years of the Biden-Harris policies, Arab American support for Trump has increased. He recognized this during his Friday speech, stating, “They’ve had it with her. Nobody’s in charge. Joe Biden is asleep. Kamala is at a dance party with Beyonce.”
