President Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed reports that there are “peace talks” between the U.S. and Iran amid escalating tensions in the region, calling such reports “HIGHLY FABRICATED, FAKE NEWS” amid a swirl of speculation.

“I have not reached out to Iran for ‘Peace Talks’ in any way, shape, or form. This is just more HIGHLY FABRICATED, FAKE NEWS! If they want to talk, they know how to reach me. They should have taken the deal that was on the table – Would have saved a lot of lives!!!” he wrote early Tuesday morning.

On Monday, the president cut his G7 Summit trip short to return to Washington, D.C., as Iran and Israel remained locked in conflict overseas.

Trump posted an ominous statement on the matter, writing on Truth Social, “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

While flying home, the president gaggled with the press aboard Air Force One, answering questions on Iran’s refusal to come to the table and make a “deal.”

One reporter asked the president what he was “looking for” in terms of Iran.

“An end, a real end,” Trump said. “Not a ceasefire. Or giving up entirely, that’s okay, too.”

It is unclear what the president’s plan is as far as dealing with Iran, but his suggestion to evacuate Tehran has sent tongues wagging, with some wondering if the United States or Israel will militarily strike the region to prevent the country from finishing or obtaining a nuclear weapon.

“AMERICA FIRST means many GREAT things, including the fact that, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump wrote on Monday.
