The Trump administration is in the process of enforcing federal agencies to ban transgender restroom usage among staff members.

The implementation of President Donald Trump’s executive order was sent in a memo on Wednesday by the Office of Personnel Management to agency leaders, according to a report by The Hill.

Those who refuse to do so will be placed on immediate paid leave by Friday at 5 p.m. The memo reportedly gives agency leaders until Feb. 7 at noon to report progress on the issue.

The action follows Trump’s signing of an executive order on the day of his inauguration which included signing into action that the U.S. recognized only two genders—male and female.

The move overturned numerous changes during the Biden administration that pushed to redefine gender in the federal government and other agencies.

“It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality,” Trump’s order stated.

“Under my direction, the Executive Branch will enforce all sex-protective laws to promote this reality, and the following definitions shall govern all Executive interpretation of and application of Federal law and administration policy,” it continued.

The definitions within the statement specified that “‘Sex’ is not a synonym for and does not include the concept of ‘gender identity.’”

The order also requires that, “Within 30 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall provide to the U.S. Government, external partners, and the public clear guidance expanding on the sex-based definitions set forth in this order.”

The order specifically applies to government-issued identification documents, including passports, visas and Global Entry cards.

Government agencies must also “remove all statements, policies, regulations, forms, communications, or other internal and external messages that promote or otherwise inculcate gender ideology.”

Among other details included in the act is the specific requirement that, “Federal funds shall not be used to promote gender ideology.”

The effort that could force out some federal workers adds to a recent report of a buyout for federal workers who seek to leave the federal government following Trump’s return to the White House.
