President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Truth Social is “now available” for all Samsung smartphone users directly through the Samsung Galaxy Store.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump told his supporters, “TRUTH is now available for Samsung Smartphone users to download in the Samsung Galaxy Store!” Trump added, “Thank you to Samsung for moving quickly, no need for ‘unnecessary’ delays or politics.”
The 45th president’s social media platform devoted to protecting free speech and providing an alternative media platform for Americans has quickly risen in popularity over the past several months. Touted as a platform devoted to “truth,” the social media app has provided a powerful way for Trump to engage with his supporters.
After being approved by Apple in February to be downloaded from the App Store, Truth Social has faced a number of delays with the Google Play Store. Samsung, which is estimated to provide 30 percent of domestic smartphones, now allows users to download the app directly, according to Just The News. Previously, users would have had to wait for Google to approve the app.
Trump Media & Technology Group CEO Devin Nunes told Fox Business, “Samsung has been great. They’re very easy to work with, and they don’t care about politics. They just want to conduct their business, get it done, and move on.”
The expansion of Truth Social has been a major focus for conservatives this year, since it allows users the ability to exercise free speech and avoid censorship from media platforms controlled by liberal ideologists. With more users now able to take advantage of Truth Social, the 45th president’s platform will almost certainly continue to attract users eager to leave the censorship of Facebook, Twitter, and other companies.
Recently, Nunes highlighted the importance of Truth Social, saying, “It is very possible that maybe, just maybe, the most important creation in Donald Trump’s whole career will be the creation of TRUTH Social.”
Trump praised the “big milestone for Truth and Freedom of Speech.” He also urged anyone who has not yet downloaded the app to, “JOIN TRUTH TODAY!”
