President Donald Trump took a bold step forward in providing strong leadership in the community of East Palestine, Ohio, this week by making a personal visit to the hurting residents who have been impacted by the disastrous chemical catastrophe that turned their world upside down in early February.

“To the people of East Palestine and to the nearby communities in Ohio and Pennsylvania, we have told you loud and clear, you are NOT forgotten,” Trump stated in remarks delivered during his visit.

He also vowed to fight for accountability in the toxic chemical disaster, which has left waterways allegedly contaminated after chemical gases were released into the air. “You’ll have that accountability,” Trump said. “It’ll all be out there very clearly.”

In an opinion piece written for the Boston Herald, writer Joe Battenfeld posited, “While the liberal elite sip champagne at climate fundraisers in LA and DC and New York City, in East Palestine, the terrified residents stock up on bottled water for their kids.”

Joe Biden has not made a trip to East Palestine. By contrast, President Trump donated thousands of gallons of cleaning supplies and more than a dozen pallets of clean water to the community on Wednesday, according to Fox News Digital.

Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas, tweeted on Wednesday, “America has two Presidents right now: One who can climb a flight of stairs and one who falls up them. One who visits Americans in need, and one who takes pallets of cash to Ukraine. One who leads and one who follows. America needs strength again.”

Instead of visiting Ohio, Biden has been traveling overseas this week, meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, promising another $500 million in military aid to the Eastern European country.

That promise of financial support comes amid a staggering additional $10 billion in economic assistance that is expected to be funneled into Ukraine, as announced by U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
