President Donald Trump spoke out about the Pennsylvania Senate race on Tuesday as Democratic Sen. Bob Casey refuses to concede in his loss to Republican challenger David McCormick.
Trump shared his concerns in a Truth Social post on Tuesday.
“The Democrats are trying to rig the U.S. Senate Election in Pennsylvania. Such a disgrace. The Election was WON, conclusively, by David McCormick!” Trump wrote.
Other Republicans have also spoken out against the Democrat after McCormick’s still unofficial victory by about 26,000 votes in the state.
The win, within 0.5%, forces an automatic recount in the state. Pennsylvania Secretary of State Al Schmidt confirmed the recount would proceed last week, adding that 80,000 ballots had not yet been counted. The recount is expected to continue until Nov. 26.
The cost of the recount is expected to surpass $1 million.
“What’s taking place in these counties is absolute lawlessness,” Pennsylvania Republican Party Chair Lawrence Tabas said of the recount, Fox News reported.
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley also addressed the issue in a post on X.
“Let’s be clear about what’s happening here: Democrats in Pennsylvania are brazenly trying to break the law by attempting to count illegal ballots. They are doing this because they want to steal a senate seat,” he wrote.
In another post, Whatley addressed actions by the RNC as Bucks County is disregarding state law by counting undated or misdated mail-in ballots. Whatley wrote on Monday that, “Following our latest RNC lawsuit, today the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled yet again that undated ballots CANNOT BE COUNTED.”
He continued, “No more excuses. Election officials in Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and other counties have absolutely no choice but to reject illegal ballots. We will hold them to it. Protect The Vote!”
House Speaker Mike Johnson added, “Democrats openly admit to tampering with the integrity of our elections by counting ILLEGAL votes. The race is over. @DaveMcCormickPA won.”
