President Donald Trump called for an investigation of Iowa pollster Ann Selzer on Sunday over potential election fraud.

Trump argued his case in a statement posted to his Truth Social account on Sunday with a link to her departure from the Des Moines Register.

“A totally Fake poll that caused great distrust and uncertainty at a very critical time. She knew exactly what she was doing. Thank you to the GREAT PEOPLE OF IOWA for giving me such a record breaking vote, despite possible ELECTION FRAUD by Ann Selzer and the now discredited ‘newspaper’ for which she works. An investigation is fully called for!” Trump wrote.

Selzer’s column noted her plans to pursue other ventures and called polling her “life’s work.”

“Public opinion polling has been my life’s work. I collected my first research data as a freshman in college, if you don’t count a neighborhood poll I did at age 5. I’ve always been fascinated with what a person could learn from a scientific sample of a meaningful universe,” Selzer wrote.

“Beyond election polls, my favorite projects were helping clients learn something they did not know to help them evaluate options for their companies, institutions or causes. That work may well continue, but I knew a few years ago that the election polling part of my career was headed to a close,” she added.

Other critics joined Trump in his call for an investigation as Selzer’s polling for Iowa showed Vice President Kamala Harris estimated to win by 3 points. Trump won 56 percent of the vote compared with Harris at 42.7 percent, by a total of about 270,000 votes.

“Ann Selzer’s retirement announcement confirms what we already knew: The Harris +3 was deliberate propaganda,” David Chapman wrote on X.

“When you become the laughingstock of the profession, it is time to seek ‘other ventures.’ The Democrats won’t miss her at all. Her usefulness to them is at an end,” commentator Dinesh D’Souza added.

Trump also blasted her polling that was released two days before the election.

“”I am running against a totally corrupt person, and I’m really not running against her. I’m running against a corrupt machine called the Democrat Party. It’s totally a corrupt party,” he stated, according to Newsmax.
