President Donald Trump weighed in on Friday after the eye-opening information of the second installment of Elon Musk’s anticipated “Twitter Files” dropped on Thursday night.
Musk, who now owns Twitter, directed users to read a thread from “The Free Press” founder and editor Bari Weiss. Her thread revealed shocking evidence of Twitter censorship and suppression policies, pulling back the curtain on the social media platform’s secretive “Blacklists.”
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “ELON: The Twitter releases are a revelation in that they show, in a very powerful fashion, the FBI and ‘Justice’ illegally colluding, proving conclusively, in one more very powerful way, that the 2020 Presidential Election was Rigged & Stolen.”
In 2021, Twitter infamously suspended President Donald Trump from the platform, marking the first time in history that a sitting U.S. president had been banned from any social media site. In November 2022, Musk reinstated Trump’s account, marking a big reversal for the censorship-laden Big Tech giant.
As reported by RSBN, Musk remarked on the reinstatement, “Deplatforming a sitting President undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America.”
Trump’s demand for transparency is a wake-up call for proponents of free speech. Former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, previously called on Musk to “make everything public now” when it came to the “Twitter Files.”
However, the second phase of the data drop has painted Dorsey in a less than flattering light, with Weiss’s information alleging that Dorsey himself had a hand in deciding who was blacklisted via a “secret group” that handled “politically sensitive decisions.”
The group, called “SIP-PES,” would allegedly scrutinize accounts with high numbers of followers that might be considered “controversial.”
President Trump concluded his statement with a call for honesty: “What everyone is REALLY waiting to see, however, is the Twitter information and thought process leading up to the time of the so-called ‘Election,’ and ultimately the ‘Deplatforming’ of the President of the United States. Big moment in history. Thank you!”
