President Donald Trump shared Truth Social’s recent explosion of success in a written statement on Friday and expressed his optimism that Twitter will improve under Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s new leadership.

After recently launching on the Google Play Store and quickly rising to the No. 1 downloaded app, Truth Social has continued to top the charts and increase in popularity among social media users. Meanwhile, Facebook recently experienced its first-ever decrease in social media users, and Twitter experienced a time of uncertainty during Musk’s purchase of the company.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump detailed the success of the social media platform, writing, “Last week it had bigger numbers than all other platforms, including TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and the rest. It also looks and works better to my eye.”

Celebrating the success of his free speech platform, the 45th president stated, “TRUTH SOCIAL has become somewhat of a phenomena.”

While Trump has made it clear that he would not return to Twitter even if Musk lifted the permanent ban on his account and that he believes Truth Social is a superior social media platform, Trump also expressed optimism Friday that Twitter could see significant improvement under Musk’s leadership.

News of Musk’s completed purchase of the social media giant circulated around the world Thursday night as Republicans and Independents celebrated the transition of power amid expectations that Musk will allow free speech to prevail on Twitter for the first time in ages.

“I am very happy that Twitter is now in sane hands, and will no longer be run by Radical Left Lunatics and Maniacs that truly hate our country,” Trump said. “Twitter must now work hard to rid itself of all of the bots and fake accounts that have hurt it so badly. It will be much smaller, but better.”

Nevertheless, Trump concluded his post by reiterating his commitment to Truth Social, stating, “I LOVE TRUTH!”
